Gloucester v Turkey
I hope you all enjoyed the recent Bank Holiday weekend. Last Easter Bank Holiday, I took some time off and headed to Turkey for a bit of heat.
Little did I know that the temperatures back in Gloucester would exceed what we enjoyed in Ölüdeniz!
The hot weather made for a very busy few days at the farm, with plenty of people on the Easter trail, but the sunshine also had another advantage: it gave our asparagus plants a serious boost.
Asparagus grows at its best between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, so those four super hot days were vital for our crop and meant I returned from my jaunt to some seriously succulent looking asparagus – which you can now get your hands on in the farm shop.

I generally like mine with butter, poached egg and hollandaise sauce on the side, but I’d love to know how you cook yours!
