Gloucester’s finest pick your own sunflowers – ready to cut in August

Pick your own sunflowers and make memories in our handsome meadow in Over

**Opening again in 2026**

Take unforgettable photos and brighten up your day with a wander around our sunflower meadow.

Welcome to the vibrant world of sunflower picking at Over Farm in Gloucester, where you’ll discover a kaleidoscope of sun-kissed yellows, oranges and even pinks to light up your day.

Our towering, radiant blooms make the perfect backdrop for those cherished family photos (or a shot worthy of your Insta grid!). From early August, our sunflower fields in Gloucester offer an unforgettable experience for all ages, from the young ones who’ll marvel at the sumptuous sea of yellow, to grown-ups who’ll appreciate the simple joys of connecting with nature.

And for Romeos or Juliets looking for a unique location for a memorable date, the sunflower field is certainly a tranquil and romantic spot! Though Over Farm cannot accept any responsibility for the outcome of said date, sorry Dave…

Then to top off your meadow experience, you get to leave with your arms filled with beautiful local sunflowers, ready to add a splash of countryside charm to your favourite vase at home.

If you can’t see any slots available, wait until August!

When are the sunflowers ready to pick?

Those beautiful blooms are usually ready for your vases from early August, once they’ve had enough time to grow nice and colourful, until early September.

Before then, you can always head to our soft fruit fields, which offer a different sort of picking experience from early June to late August.

Our big, juicy strawberries are the first fruit to ripen, ready from early June all through to the end of August, while our raspberries get going in June and July and the blackberries are just beautiful in August.

FAQs

It’s FREE to enter our PYO fields Take a peek at the calendar on our booking page to see which slots are available – and be sure to book before you arrive to make sure we are open and to save a wasted journey.

We always say babes in arms go free at Over Farm and that’s certainly the case in the fruit patch.

We class babies as children that aren’t walking and have to be carried/pushed everywhere – so if your little one is a “babe in arms”, then please don’t worry about booking a slot for them!

The field is a little rough in places, but most buggies manage unless it’s rained recently. If you have large wheels, you’ll generally be fine, if it’s a city stroller, a carrier may be better.

We aim to close 30 minutes after the start of the last time slot.

Each of our time slots lasts 30 minutes, so if you were to buy a 4:30pm time slot, you should turn up latest of 4:30 and we would be asking you to be finished by 4:50 so we can close at 5pm.

If you book an earlier slot, you’ll have more time in the field!

Our closing times vary. Please see the general guide above, or follow the  links to see what we have available.

Please do! Well behaved dogs are very welcome at the field for a small charge, but please keep them on a lead and pick up their poop if they feel the need to go!

Glad you asked!

It is simply a case of choosing the prettiest flower and cutting them to your preferred length with the secateurs provided.

Yes! Our farm shop and cafe will be open and at weekends and during the summer holidays, our farm park – Countryside Adventure will be too.
