Upon arriving at our accommodation we thought the room was amazing, full of rustic charm and quirky. The bed was comfy, aside from the pallet wood bed head which wasn’t great to sit against. We couldn’t get the tv channels to work at all, messaged the number we were given and had no reply so watched tv on our phone instead. Next morning we wanted a shower before the wedding we were attending only to find there was just one small thin towel each for two nights? As I needed to wash my (long) hair I needed two towels myself so messaged the e mail I had currently corresponded with to mention the TV and request a couple of extra towels. Again no reply. We still haven’t had a reply either to our message nor e mail and we checked out 6 days ago! Drinks at the wedding were expensive (£7.50 for a glass of wine). The wedding venue itself was stunning, no denying that, absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing too (hog roast and wood fired pizza). The morning of our last night we were able to check out late (11am) but we had been woken up early by cars, people, VERY loud microlites. The microlites are mentioned in the accomodation section when you book but be prepared. Even with earplugs in this has to be the nosiest accomodation we’ve EVER stayed in and the toilets aren’t only shared between the four rooms as mentioned, they are shared with the whole campsite too which I can imagine adds greatly to the noise in the morning during busier times of the year as people have to walk around the front of the (single glazed) rooms. There’s also no light between the rooms and the toilets if you need to go during the night. The cafe food was really really nice, possibly one of the best jacket potatoes I’ve ever had and my husbands sandwich was also lovely, and not too pricey either. We would highly recommend the wedding venue (other than the cost of drinks BUT it was a wedding). Also highly recommend the cafe but sadly the room was the worst weve ever stayed in and we stay in 10-15 places a year (noise, tv and towel situation/communication and nails sticking out of the pallets!)

Over Barn helped us have the best day of our lives, and we are eternally grateful. From the very beginning, Josh and the team at Over Barn were brilliant. We attended at least three open days, probably ate more samples than is reasonable, and asked plenty of questions - yet we were always met with friendliness and efficiency. When the day arrived, everything ran like clockwork. We didn’t have a single thing to worry about, and not one detail went wrong. The team weren’t just efficient though - they were kind, caring, and thoughtful. Whether it was Jordan helping us out the day before, Josh fluffing my dress and fetching us food and drinks, or Vikki looking after us in the evening, we were cared for so wonderfully that we now feel indebted to the team. Not only was it perfect for us, but our friends and family had an incredible day too. We would wholeheartedly recommend Over Barn to anyone who wants an authentic, enjoyable, and carefree wedding. We will never forget how special they made our day.

Best farm shop in the area. Incredible cheese. Just lovely
