Had an informative chat with Ewan from National Highways yesterday. Interesting to see what the works on the A40 bridge entailed and he showed what the contraflow should look like. We can't answer everyone's questions on this post, but Rees has drawn a rough diagram of what will happen with some key details below. Key points for Over: - No right turn from Over r'about to Highnam lights westbound (Ross direction) for the duration. - Contraflow will start outside the Toby Carvery by taking away the barrier on the westbound (Ross direction) right turn slip road outside the farm shop and tarmacking a section across (image might be clearer than that description!) - From July to October, customers exiting the shop, accessing the Toby and Over Estate (old Over Hospital) will have a separate dedicated lane that will merge back into the contraflow at the bridge traffic lights. - From October to finish, residents and businesses on the southern side of the carriageway will have the system as above for them to rejoin the carriageway roughly opposite the farm shop. - The cycle and footpath from Gloucester to Highnam will remain open throughout. - Still waiting on confirmed bus stop locations - Official maps should be available soon.

I love over farm, but it was rather frustrating that the woodland trail (a large part of the farm) was closed after we paid full price and I asked staff if there is anything I need to know. When I said on departure to staff, I was greeted with, well it wasn't my decision to close it. To then later see on Facebook that unicorns and dinosaurs are scheduled for half term, I am guessing (but obviously just a feeling) that thats why that area of the farm was closed to prepare for visits in May half term. Great for them, not so much for my daughter. Just give us a heads up would be nice.

We would just like to thank Jordan, Josh, Vikki and all the amazing staff at Overbarn for the most magical amazing day. Our dream day was a fairytale. Everything from planning almost two years prior and right to the end of the night went smoothly. Every little detail was taken care of. The food was incredible, the pizzas in the evening were a big hit and just the vibe of the venue really added to our little fairytale day. Overbarn holds such precious memories for us, we couldn’t have chosen a better location. We had beautiful weather, which really lit up the courtyard aswell. We also can’t thank Krista enough aswell for her amazing touches - she really brought the venue to life. The most amazing day of our lives. Wow, what a day on 30th April 2026. We would highly recommend Overbarn! Love Sharlie & Conor Palmer xoxo

We had a such a nice time at Over today, the weather wasn’t ideal but it didn’t stop our 2 1/2yo having fun. He is tractor mad so loved the tractors he could play on and the actual tractor ride was the highlight. I’ve got very fond memories of going to Over as a child myself so it’s extra special to be able to bring my own now and have such an enjoyable time. All the staff that we encountered were great, so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!! From a very happy 2 1/2yo, and his family.

As a childminder, I’m always looking for fun places to take my mindees - & the children I took to the half term adventure today had the absolute best time - the animal tour (bonus educational element to the day😆), the tractor ride, the bounce pillow, welly wanging and the play area really made their day special! Really well organised and laid out, pushchair friendly & very reasonably priced. We’ll be back at Easter!

Wow this place is amazing, could look around the shop for hours - beautiful selection of things to buy. Coffees in cafe were lush too.

Farm shop visit

Waited at the deli for a sometime while two members of staff walked around chatting. Young mqn at the till was polite and helpful which made my experience better. Visit was 16.05.26 approx 12pm

An absolute gem

Went for the first time yesterday and took our Grandchildren. What a great find. Loads for the children to do. They particularly loved the quad ride and the tractor ride. We did both three times. Loved the traditional games like duck racing and large chess board. The Marky Jay show was excellent. Really engaging for the children and it made us laugh. What I loved about Over Farm was apart from face painting everything on the site is included with the ticket price which enabled the children to go on their favorite things more than once. Will definitely be going again and would recommend it for a family day out. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Todd FieldMouse

Todd fieldmouse was excellent although his limited height his confidence and enthusiasm was superb. He gave us some great spots and introduced us to gloving and sliding. Top Bloke.
